Family in California!

I feel so blessed to have been visited by several family members this past week.   It began with Heather and Mom traveling from back east to spend spring break with us.  We hung out at the beach, toured Mission San Juan Capistrano (below), attended the Newport Beach temple, boated around Newport Beach harbor, and even snuck in a quick shopping trip at Legoland.  It was a busy week, but lots of fun!  My kids were such good sports about being carted around every day.  Now that it's over, it feels like a dream; what a pleasure to have had company!

Grandma with the boys as we get ready to set sail in the harbor.  My mom turned 68 while she was with us!  She defies her age: very few wrinkles, hardly any gray hair... and lots of humor.  The kids love having grandma in town.

Heather was so sweet with my kids.  It was fun to see them develop a relationship with such a distant aunt.  My favorite thing about Heather was how she packed her rubber gloves and apron for the trip.  Every morning, I would find my kitchen tidied up and sparkly thanks to her!  Heather also insisted that we attended the temple together.  I am so glad that she did; it was one of my favorite events of the week.

Jason drove down from Santa Monica for Sunday dinner with his girlfriend.  Delicious greek food was on the menu, thanks to Joseph's culinary talents!
