Monticello

The touring continued on into Saturday.  Katie was kind enough to keep the little kids at her house while we drove up to Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello.  What a beautiful place!  What an accomplished man!  I love that he was a family man.  At one time he had 11 grandchildren living with him at Monticello.  The books and collections inside the house reminded me of my father-in-law who also loves to collect books and artifacts.  I think that he and Jefferson will have a lot to talk about some day.

Lovely daffodils.  A sure sign of spring!

Joseph and David try their hand at quill pen writing.  More practice, maybe?!

I LOVED touring with my parents.  We had so many wonderful conversations and hilarious moments as we drove from place to place all weekend.  What a blessing to have shared some memories together.
